try calling healthy start...it should be at the health department...if not they'll give u the number.....theyre not doctors but if you just have questions they can help answer them....i live in the keys and i have a woman that comes to my home to see me (im 21 weeks pregnant) once in a while to talk about the changes in my body and just to see if i have any questions....which i have a 9 month old so i already basically know most of it anyways but she still comes over and i can call her anytime if i have questions....but anyways theyre free....and have you talked to your insurence company about when your coverage would start? we go through aetna and they covered me the day i was put on my husbands insurence (we did it online)....their website had a place where i could print out a temporary insurence card until mine came in

We have a place here in Brevard county called Pregnancy Resources. Also the local Health Dept may have some listings as well as DCF. They always have listings posted in their offices.

Try WIC, (women infants children), I believe they have different locations throughout the US. Call your local health department, and they can get you the numbers for the agencies that can help. Good Luck.

Also try going to childrens and families. It is a big headache dealing directly with them but they can refer you. Or you could try calling a hospital. Broward General referred me to a great facility. I received the best care with the nicest nurses. The doctors office was great but i didnt have me baby at their hospital.

Usually there will be a pregnancy crisis center in the area (look it up in phone book) and they will help answer your questions for free and give you information on where to go (that is in budget) to get help if they cannot help you

check out your medi-cal program in your state. if you are pregnant, you automatically qualify.
I used it until my insurance kicked in too. The i threw away the card. I'm a snob and i hate taking hand outs from the state unless i absolutely need to.
