You haven't said what kind of dance you're interested in. There is ballet, modern dance, tap dance, ballroom dance, male stripping, which does includes exotic dancing, There is a form of dance, which includes a type of gymnastics.
You also haven't said how old you are. You sound like you might be quite young. If you are under 18, than forget male stripping. All others I've mentioned here are an option for sure, regardless of age.
If you don't say anything to anyone, that you are dancing, then it's very unlikely that they would find out. Just pick a place that you are unlikely to be recognized by anyone., Like a side of town that you know they are unlikely to hang around. If they're going to the same dance studio, or gym that you are, they definitely won't say anything, because he probably doesn't want his friends knowing about it either. Good luck, and have fun.

I say GO AHEAD! If you do participate, you most likely WILL be made fun of some time or another--but those people are just bored and looking for someone to torment to draw attention away from themselves. I love love LOVE you for wanting to participate in whatever you want to!

Just remember that most chicks will find this very attractive--you are so comfortable with yourself that you don't care what anybody else thinks! Also remember that there are very famous male dancers and gymnasts. Just look at the freakin' Olympics! Don't take any crap from anybody!

You and I know that despite what people here
say, you will occasionally be the target of jokes.
Remember, though, that basically everyone growing
up gets targeted for something (if you didn't do what you
like but then got made fun of for a different reason what
did you gain?). Try to have a thick skin. Stick with your
friends and have fun and avoid confrontations with the bad
people as much as possible.

When you are older you will be glad
you followed your dreams more than you would be glad
some dickheads didn't make fun of you if you don't do it.

I think that's totally great. you should definitely do them. both if you want. you will be made fun of for it at first, but eventually bullies will get over it. Hey, I'm a girl, I've done all kinds of dancing. Ballet, hip hop, interpretive(sign language), ballroom dancing, belly dancing, and i even took two years of gymnastics. people made fun of me for it initially, but now they think its totally cool. besides, if there weren't any boy dancers, who would the girls dance with?!

Lots of guys dance and look good doing it. Likewise for gymnastics, and it would be hard to make fun of those guys with the muscles they have.

Don't let others control your life. Do what YOU want to do and you will live longer and happier.

RAVE DANCING! two guys did it for the talent show at running camp and they were crazy good. one of the coaches sitting next to me goes "damn, you know how much p*ssy that will get you!" about half way through the routine. it was hilarious, but true
