What is growing around my tree? Appears in AM. 6 inches tall, red with black tip. shrivels after noon.?

Some sort of mushroom. Call a lawn care specialist. It might be poison. Don't mess with it.

Sounds like a mushroom to me. Apparently the area is high in moisture (mulched?).
