I have started my own website. I work from home and I generate income by placing ads on my site. I hope to sell my ebook soon, too. I'm making enough now that I can take long weekend vacations to the beach with my family (and rent the van and a condo, too) and pay for it myself. The site keeps getting more visitors and I keep doing better.
I'm not a tech type, either. I couldn't do any of it without SiteBuildIt. That is the company with the tools that show me how to build the site, create the page descriptions and so on. All I do is write the pages and the tools turn it into html for me.
So far this month, my site has had over 5,000 unique visitors (people who have never been there before). It keeps going up, too.
I stay at home with my kids and this was a way for me to own my own business and still raise my kiddos.
If you want to look at my website, click the link below. If you want to know more about the way I built my site, click the "Work at Home" button.
No pressure. No selling. It's just a way to see how someone else created a successful online business.

The best routes to take are to research the process of starting a business as well as the industry you're interested in.
I recommend checking out the SBA, Entrepreneur, The Start Up Journal & Nolo. All 4 are great informational resources for the new/small business owner. I posted links for you in the source box.
Research, research, research – this cannot be stressed enough. Read as much as you can. Here are some book titles that are relevant:
* Starting an Online Business For Dummies, 4th Edition by Greg Holden
* How to Start and Maintain A Successful Online Business by Kelly Thornton
* The Complete E-Commerce Book: Design, Build, and Maintain a Successful Web-Based Business by Janice Reynolds
There are plenty of free informational resources out there. Check the source box for links to articles.
Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!

If you like to buy/sell and import/export, try venues such as EBay and Amazon. You set up an account, list the product(s), and ship when the orders come in. I've used Amazon on and off for years. Best of luck!

Easiest thing with no effort is domain parking. Buy domain names and then park them for free with companies like www.sedo.com or www.activeaudience.com.. Whenever there is a click on your site you get a cut of the ad revenue.
Of course other than that there are tons of full time business, but, for that you need to come up with somethign real.

well this is one of the most tricky things to do, because most are just huge retailing companies wanting you to sell their stock from your website, and give you a small percentage. the best thing is is to start your own business and then post your stuff on line.
