Your just a younger version of Prince Fielder. If I were you I would maybe give it a year to get some of that competitive edge back, like play travel or even do a summer house league with your local park district and then try out sophomore year. Or just spend a lot of time practicing over the winter to build your skills back up. Once you get back into the swing of things, I could see you being a complete boss on the the field. Again it sounds like your a young Prince Fielder. And there are plenty of bigger guys in the Majors, besides Fielder, Heath Bell clocks in at 260, Carlos Zambrano at 270, CC Sabathia at 290 so you'll be just fine.

No. But, I guess it depends on your mobility. Can you run the bases? If you can, I would say go for it.
But, in all honesty 215 pounds is alot for someone 5'8. I am 5'8 and I weigh 165 pounds.

Depends on what position you play. You're probably a bit big for a middle infielder, but for outfield or first base, that's a different story. You might consider losing some weight, or at least toning it up, but if you're strong and can hit (or if you're a lefty pitcher!) I'd say to stick with it. Plus, if you enjoy the game, there's no reason to give it up.
Good luck!

You may be built a little too much like a catcher. However, if you can run quickly, you can definitely play baseball. Besides, if you want to lose weight, what better way is there than playing baseball?

No, but like others said..its important to improve your base running..since you are somewhat heavy. If you are a power hitter..it will not matter as much though. First base or outfield are your best options. You should probably lose some weight to gain more mobility if you want to play other positions.
However, I seem to remember Kirby Puckett..who had similar size as you..and he could definitely play! So, don't let your size discourage you.

Hey, you will lose weight when you play baseball. Just go for it and find the strongest point you have. Good luck!!

Baseball is one of those sports that you can't really be "too big" for. If you can hit, they will find a position for you. If you can't hit, then that's the problem, not your size.

If you hit for power, I'd say you're ok. Also, I hope you play catcher.

You might be a little large, but if you can run and hit, go for it.
