My TV license is now due for renewal and I don't think it's value for money. What would you miss most? Could you do it? ( Bear in mind I can still watch all my DVD's!)

Yes I haven't had TV for years. Not that I don't think it is good value for money but I don't have much spare time so i would rather read or play on the computer.
Be prepared for the licence people to keep sending you reminders and warnings. They don't believe anyone can do without it and they don't read your letters. I just ignore them now. Their detector van can can stay outside all day for all I care.

My sister is moving into a new place and not having a TV. I'm thinking about giving up TV for lent next year. I watch so much every day and think it would really do me a lot of good not to watch it. Try giving it up and see how it goes. As you said, you can still watch DVDs. Good luck!

For years I didn't have a TV license and never watched TV and I didn't miss it all. We eventually gave in and got one a few months ago but find we only use it for the kid's channel. It's not on otherwise and we STILL don't miss it!

If you possess a television you must pay a licence,i know it sucks the bbc should just go commercial friendly and do away with it.

Yes and I did for an entire year in college. But I wouldn't choose to do it again. What I missed most and would most definitely miss again if I had to live without TV again are Days of Our Lives, Law and Order, Court TV and Y & R!

Yes. I hardly ever watch tv. Live without the internet? Now thats a whole different question! If youre getting your moneys worth for tv, then you should probably just get rid of it. At least you'll be saving money!

Definitely not! TV is my comfort-an escape. When something is bothering me, I can watch TV and forget about it for a while. And now that I've had cable for a few years, I don't think I could get rid of that either. My parents keep threatening to. I couldn't live without it!

yes i can live with out tv. but what kind of life would it be. the world rotates around the way a person behaves and dresses in these shows. all the gossip shows ( like entertainment tonight) and just imagine if every one stops watching tv how many ppl would lose their jobs ( which pay them a lot more than they deserve) for the sake of those ppl and for news sake no i cannot stop my t v.
