Snake's tails don't grow back. I've caught wild snakes without tails and they've been just fine. Put something on it that helps cuts heal faster in humans, and then let it go. It'll be just fine. You might see it again in a couple of years.

The tail will not grow back. If the injury isn't too severe, the snake will likely survive, but with a blunt tail instead of a nicely tapered tail. Herps can carry salmonella which could affect you if you didn't wash your hands after handling it,but other than that, don't worry about disease. If I were you, I'd let the snake go back to the wild. The stress of being caged plus the injury could overwhelm the snake. You wouldn't be able to bandage it's wound & any anti-bacterial ointment would rub right off.

some tails can grow back, but it's not like a lizard. If it isn't too severe just let it go. snakes have a survival instinct and will be fine. Don't stress over it an d watch more closely when your mowing next time.

If it is not a bad injury...like if it is just the tip or end missing the snake will be fine. If you let him go later his tail will heal. Garter snakes are good hunters of insects and will keep you bug population in check. You won't catch any disease from him he is harmless.

Release it. reptiles carry all kinds of diseases. Yes you can get things from it including samonela. It's tail will probably not grow back snakes usually can not regenerate like some lizards. It is a wild animal you are doing more harm than good by keeping it captive.

I don't think it will grow back. If it is bleeding, I would try to bandage it and watch it for a couple of days then let it go. If it is not bleeding, I would go ahead and turn it back outside.
