we have a 2 years old dauthger and we are together since 2002 and living together for 2 years and in the past 6 months the things aren't going really well we fight all the time and sleep together less than once a month we talk have a serious talk and he told me that he loves me and want to spend the rest of his life with me but needs some time by himself to miss me.

Well, you don't give much information, but the person's actions are telling you something that your partner doesn't have courage to tell you out loud.

For your own peace of mind, you may need to sit down and confront the partner and see how they respond. It could be a turning point to bring you closer or a revelation that you will not be together. I can sense by your short post that you are frustrated with the way it is. I'd push for a sit down discussion as soon as possible and get on with life. With or without your 'partner.'
