You can pull a free credit report for everyone in the family that has an SSN once a year at: https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp

Do a credit check on that SSN and also contact the Social Security Administration and that should just about cover you.

I would go to the main 3 credit companies, like Equifax and run a credit report under your child's name. Perhaps do a criminal background check in your child's name as well.
