A low-wattage light bulb, painted school bus yellow. In the story it is not made clear. One should assume it is drugs of some sort. Many reviewers have stated that it was drugs, but again, it is never really made clear.

Two batteries and a light bulb.
It's actually a plot device called a MacGuffin. A MacGuffin can be anything (a compromising microfilm or a maltese falcon), so long as all the characters express a desire to own or acquire the MacGuffin then the audience will accept it, no matter what it is.
There is more to the MacGuffin than that, but for this example, it's all that's needed.

I'm confused. A soul, hmm surely not, a soul is as far as I know not something that can be physically viewed. Even if it was how come when asked "Is that what I think it is" Samuel L Jackson says yes. How many souls has the man seen. Also the guy asking the question would have to have seen one before. Unlikely.

additionally basically an FYI, Jackson wasn't actual quoting biblical verses besides, (No i'm no longer a bible thumper nor am I specifically religious yet i be responsive to a good style of the books) interior the action picture Jackson's citation of Ezekiel 25:17 is "the direction of the righteous guy is beset on all sides via the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil adult adult males. Blessed is he who, interior the call of charity and good will, shepherds the vulnerable contained in the direction of the valley of darkness, for he's actual his brother's keeper and the finder of lost toddlers. and that i visit strike down upon thee with super vengeance and livid anger people who attempt to poison and break my brothers. and you'd be responsive to my call is the Lord as quickly as I lay my vengeance upon you!" however the actual Biblical verse Ezekiel 25:17 is "and that i visit execute super vengeance upon them with livid rebukes; and that they shall be responsive to that i'm the Lord, as quickly as I shall lay my vengeance upon them." The version Jackson costs is a entire fabrication written via Quentin Tarantino

alledgedly from film nerds it is marcias wallace's soul. He soled it to the devil and is trying to steal it back. The big plaster on the back of his neck is the mark from where it was taken, hence the big close up of the back of his big ol head in the movie
