Minnesota has used this supension twice the first time I was working and put out of work losing my employment, income, and ability to pay support. The same thing happened the second time. If I lose income because of this law it seems that the state is causeing the loss of support payments for my child and increasing the amount of backsupport owed creating a vicious circle of creating backsupport owed and then legally punishing us for oweing support? also for you that keep saying "pay support" I have, the laws allow child support agencies to go beyond the legal guidelines and inforce unfair amounts which directly affects our children by loss of time we can spend with them. the laws are whacked.

I agree with bablunt,
It really does beg the question: why didn't you pay your child support? I know truck drivers make good money. They make atleast $500 dollars a week after taxes. You should have stepped up to the plate and supported your kids. Now you're paying the price for being a deadbeat dad.

No, you can't because a driver's license is a privilege and child support in suspending your license, feels that you have breached your agreement to keep your payments current. If they feel you have abused their system and notified you that a) taxes can be seized, b) license can be suspended and c) you can be imprisoned they feel they are empowered to remove your privileges: driving, earning wages, freedom. Join the club, my fiance's son is grown. He is a grandfather, now he is aware of a child, they could only go back 2 years, but they want $3,000 of the 10,000 and until that is paid in full his driver's license is suspended and he cannot work as a maintenance man without a license. Our truck just sits in the driveway.

something like that already exists- and it is not 'voluntary'. a unsupported baby gets some money or help from a 'state corporation'-- however the state corporation gets the money from 'well-known money' and the well-known money comprise an mind-blowing form of involuntary tax's withheld from different mens paychecks, a factor of revenues tax's amassed by stae- and sometime a federal 'furnish' derived from federal income tax's paid by different fathers and the non baby generating workers. A voluntary register? - pass to a church and placed your call on the help of families/Benevolent sponsor checklist. For the sake of baby I 'bought' a clean kidney valve for her as a Christmas modern-day- she would be able to no longer have a contaminated kidney desiring dialisis in next 6 months for relax of life or lose the kidney. what style of charity have you ever accomplished for little ones or different families these days?

No because you were in default of your child support agreement. The only way this works is if you really didn't owe the money and the judgment was an error.

No, you may not. You did not fulfill your obligations under law, so you have lost the PRIVILEGE of having a license. Once you pay your support, you can possibly get your license reinstated.

pay for your damn kid(s). I get so sick of hearing a parent whine about what happens to them when they don't pay. Take responsibility for not paying, catch up on payments and get your license back.
