Me and my husband have tried to get pregnant for several years now and our only hope is to do IVF. We were in the middle of the IVF cycle when my husband decided to put it on hold because I was too moody from the IVF drugs. Since then i have decided that I dont want to go through with the IVF anymore but have suggested sperm donor and he wont give me an answer BUT he doesnt want me to have the hysterectomy that my doctor has suggested becuase i keep getting pre cervical cancer. I dont want to keep having the surgery to remove the precancer everytime it comes back. I would rather have the hysterectomy and be done with it, but i have put it off for 3 years now while i wait for my husband to decide on if he still wants to have a baby or not. Should i keep waiting and keep getting checked every 4 months for cancer or should i say you have had enough time, im having the hysterectomy?

Within the 3 years have you guys given this topic anymore discussion? Three years is a long time to wait for an answer from your husband when your health is at risk. It seems that you are causing more harm to yourself by having these surgeries. You and your husband should go to your doctor and have your doctor explain all the risk that are involved in you having theses surgery's and you need to explain to your husband what pain and the toll all of this is having on you. Look at other options and even adoption. If you and your husband have this much love to endure what you are going through in trying to have a baby just imagine how much love you can give to a child that needs a loving home.

My personal opinion is saying that you should go ahead and get a hysterectomy. There is always ways to have children -i.e. adoption. You can not wait around forever for your husband to 'decide' if wants children or not - you are putting yourself at risk- serious risk. You shouldn't gamble with cancer....

Have the procedure, the longer you put it of the more likely a more serious problem may occur such as real cervical or ovarian cancer. Your health should come first. I know lots of people want to have children, but it's not all that wonderful.............borrow nieces or nephews of friends or family, you'll be happy when it's time for them to go home.

Tell him to make the decision already! Your health seems to be in serious jeopardy, so you need to consider that first. Would it be safe and healthy for you to conceive? If not, you should have the hysterectomy ASAP and pursue adoption.

I wish you the best - this situation sounds pretty lousy.

You need to do what is going to be best for your health. I don't think your husband is ready for kids. He keeps finding reasons to put it off. Adoption is always an option.
Good Luck to you.
Have you looked into marriage counseling? It sounds like there may be more going on than it appears.

It is your body--I think that maybe a marriage counseler is in order--this is something that you should be able to discuss and if you can't come to an agreement than don't have a baby with him--babies don't solve problems they just seem to make existing problems worse
