The best move would to either go after Schmidt or another good starting pitcher. Unfortunately that will never happen because they won't give up any of their young studs (Papelbon, Hansen, Delcarmen, Lester) to pull the trigger.
So honestly, I'd be very surprised if the Red Sox made any move. Their best case scenario is that Wells comes back and gives them a reliable 5th starter.
Also now that Trot is hurt, I think they could use another bat in the line-up but its not manditory because they do have Willie Mo Pena who can play right field.

I consider the Red Sox will (or have to) make a transfer twards one more well/cast alleviation pitcher to get us by way of the sport, seeing that that has been a weak point of ours ago couple weeks. I additionally agree that the Red Sox nonetheless have to maintain their eyes opened for one more heavy hitter seeing that, up to now Ortiz's restoration is coming alongside flawlessly as deliberate (pass your hands!), however that would difference in an on the spot, so that they have to watch out int that element. Also, as you mentioned, What if Ortiz doesnt play like he normally does while he comes again???.... that could be one more intent to seem.....I additionally could now not like to peer Bonds come to Boston. There is an excessive amount of poor exposure that includes Bonds that the Red Sox have to more often than not keep transparent of, seeing that Im lovely certain that as much as this factor, the Red Sox have a gorgeous well fame with well and blank avid gamers that dont get into authorized hindrance. Im now not fairly certain approximately in which they could move to uncover a well heavy hitter to switch Ortiz if anything dangerous had been to occur, seeing that truthfully, I i havent paid a lot concentration to who's unfastened in each classes, seeing that im rather banking on the truth that Ortiz might be coming again. He has proven a well restoration procedure up to now, and im now not too involved approximately him, however i definitly consider the sox have to maintain their eyes opened simply in case.

The best move for the Red Sox would be a starter (Greg Maddux) and another bat (Alfonso Soriano) and they'd get them by sacrificing some of the young talent in the farm system

The best move may be no move.
Wells is coming back, Wakefield's a couple weeks away. I don't want to see them trade Lester or one of the other prospects if possible.
I did just hear that they offered Hansen & Crisp for Andruw Jones... That would be nice, but Atlanta wants a top pitching prospect (Lester) in return also.

The best move would be Pitching.(starting) they have a good bullpen and good Defense. They could trade maybe Will Mo Pena for a pitcher. Livan Herneders for Pena and 2prospects.
