Eden Park, Mt. Adams, Hyde Park, and Mt. Lookout are closer to the city. If you're looking for suburbs, Anderson Twp. is nice and they have good schools, also Mt. Washington is ok too. If you're looking for upwardly trendy, Covington is the hot new neighborhood right now.

Are you looking for a place to stay when you visit? Or are you looking for a place to live?

If you are just passing through, I would recommend you either stay downtown where most of the hotels are (and then you can walk along the river, get to the stadiums, or walk across the bridge to Newport and Covington) or stay at the Kingsgate Marriott on the U of C campus (then you can walk to campus or along Ludlow in the Clifton Gaslight).

if you are looking to live here, the city is divided (as mentioned above) into the Eastside and the Westside.

The Westside is very nice, but hardly new. Procter and Gamble founders and employees built a lot of nice homes here over 100 years ago - but there hasn't been much newer construction there in years. A good portion of the people on the Westside have lived there their entire lives.

The Eastside is where most of the new money and transplants from out of town live. Within the city, Mount Adams, Mount Lookout, Hyde Park, and parts of Oakley are very nice and accessible. There are quite a few shopping and dining options. These areas also had the fewest number of crimes in the city last year. You can find crime statistics for the City of Cincinnati on the city's website at http://www.cincinnati-oh.gov/police/pages/-5304-/

Outside the city, Wyoming, just northwest of downtown, is a nice community with the #1 school district in the state. The fastest growing area seems to be Mason, which is between downtown and Kings Island on I-71. There are lots of new businesses going in and homes being built.

I feel as though downtown CIncinnati is a pretty good place to live. I live on fourth st, and it is such a good atmosphere. A person doesn't really have to worry about much violence or crime. A person can never be too careful. I wouldn't recomend raising a family downtown, but for the twenty-something crowd, it is a great place to live. Every part of town is real accessible. Also, with the recent construction projects, Downtown will become the hot-spot of the city once again.

WOW rural debate going on here LOL Ok I live in Taylor Mill Ky bout 15 min from downtown Cincy EVERYONE so far has pointed out good facts about Cincy and Ky actually. Now for my input (lol u asked for it you got it ) In Cincy you have alot of nice areas just stay out of the downtown district it is a very high crime area Blue Ash, Hyde Park etc nice areas, If you want to stay close to Cincinnati but live out of Cincy try Devou Park (5 min from Cincy) Ludlow (wonderful schools quiet small beautiful community) also bout 5 min from, Taylor Mill and Florence are both nice between 15 - 20 min from Cincy No matter where you go its going to be what YOU make of it just steer clear of Downtown Covington and Downtown Cincy alot of not so nice things happen there. Good Luck hope you enjoy OH / Ky as much as I do

forget those kentucky people. cincinnati is the best place to be. i have lived here my whole life and i wouldnt pay to move anywhere.

(especially kentucky)

okay but i live in western hills. i like it its about 15 minutes from downtown and close to everything in the town. lots of homes and businesses within a five mile radius.

if you are looking for something a little more upscale then i would recommend the "east side of town"

(if you didnt know there is a big division between our east and west, but its a big joke too)

the east side has many nice neighborhoods such as west chester, milford, blue ash- this may be your best bet

blue ash is very nice and new compared to most communtities in our city. good luck and thanks for coming!

and to add onto the gentleman's before me. hamilton is not that new or great anymore. but the 'nati is a great place to be!

We lived in West Chester, about 20 miles north of the city. It was a very nice area, and right off 75, so it was very easy to get into the city.
Other nice areas around the city were Blue Ash, Sycamore, Loveland, and Hamilton.

It's been 10 years since I've lived there, but I can't imagine too much has changed since then.

PoliPino wouldn't recognize West Chester now! It is best area around here and growing faster than anywhere around here. Lots to do there and is very close to Cincy. Very safe unlike Cincinnati. Good Luck!

If I ever find myself back in the Cinci area to live, it will be in Mt. Lookout or Alms Park area. If I am there after my children are grown..... It will be Milton Street!
