I keep getting letters and faxes from some poor family that wants me to help transfer money for them. Do you think that if I do I will be helping economicly the poor and disadvantaged people of Africa? They say I can profit from the transfer too, but that is not my main interest. They are from Nigeria and South Africa. Big family i guess.

you should give your money to a reputable organization such as heifer international or world neighbors or a charity that you can verify is doing good work. preferable someone you know in your community that actually goes to africa and helps people (a friend of mine's brother-in-law goes to africa and he is an optometrist and he fits people there with glasses -- another friend goes and helps kids there get schoolbooks and pay tuition). You need to find some way to help that you can BE SURE is really reputable.

I really hope that you're not serious, but just in case you are - NO, NO, NO! This is most-likely a scam. If they ask for your bank account numbers, RUN!

Charity begins at home. I'm sure there are thousands of charities in America whose mission agrees with your morals that can benefit from your generosity. Please donate to them.
