You are her friend. So when it's a friend that's high maintenance, then the only way it'd bother you is if she's "borrowing" and cannot pay back or return what's she taken. or if she's just not a good friend (say just plain old selfish).
Other than that, it's a strictly platonic friend, so unless you mean high maintenance in that she demands a lot of your time and attention (and she shouldn't be, as you and she are NOT a couple) then it's ok for any woman to be high maintenance. If it's there's something you don't like about her, trust me, a friendly personality, and willingness to listen, always being there for you and trying to help you if you ever need, compensates for a lot of other, annoying faults a friend can have. So, if you don't think a female friend is worth the hassle, it's probably NOT the high maintenance, she's just not a decent enough friend for your standards. Trust me.

This question really makes me laugh. It makes me laugh because to me, the answer is so obvious and simple. All you need to do is go find another such high-maintenance female friend (also platonic, oddly enough, or it won't work). Ask her to come along and start a little group of friends.
Countless hours of entertainment will ensue, if it lasts more than 5 mins.

My boyfriend has a female friend who is very high maintenance and thinks she is better than everyone else. I can't stand her and we always fight about it so if a guy has a girlfriend, unless she gets along with this girl, it is probably not worth it. Don't think I'll ever date anyone who is friends with someone like that ever again because it causes too much drama.

THAT'S EVEN WORSE A PLATONIC HIGH MAINTENANCE FEMALE. AT LEAST IF SHE WERE A GIRLFRIEND YOU WOULD GET SOME EVERY NOW AND THEN. BUT TO KEEP PAYING TO HAVE A FRIEND. DO I REALLY HAVE TO ANSWER THIS.

They are high maintenance because they care more for themselves than anyone else.
I like a girl who takes care of herself and doesn't need a ton of makeup and me to buy her material things to keep her around.
There's a name for a woman who is with a guy because of the monetary things she receives.
