Help ! Getting ready to color my hair & the 20% creme developer/hair color mixture drops down my forehad, neck, ears, etc. Any advise on how to thicken it so I'm not a soppy mess????

you can buy a color thickener at the sally beauty supply store, also make sure you mix equal parts of color and developer

If it is from a box then you put too much in your hair. You need to soak the hair in dye, but not drown it. Use paper towels and take some out. I imagine that you could also use a non-reactive thickener from your house to make the solution thicker. You could try mixing in flour or some kind of power that would make it more solid.

how are you applying it?
You need a squeeze bottle and brush to give you greater control.
Also, how much developer did you mix w/the color? 2oz dev. w/ 2 oz color, or 4 oz dev?
try the 2/2 route.

TRY 2 KEEP STIRRING IT AND I THINK IT WILL THICKEN UP BUT IF IT'S IN A DROPPER BOTTLE SHAKE IT A LITTLE OR PUT IT IN THE FREEZER FOR 10 MIN.

Put vaseline on your forehead also, then just wipe
