Should I try to change to change your mind because you already have some strong opinions?
In the Middle East Begin and Sadat inked the first deal with you know who pushing. Nobody since has talked about Israel and Egypt fighting, but who knows what could happen now that the Dictator Dumbya crew is pouring gas on the fire to "fulfill the Revelation prophecies" of their cristianist cohorts, not to mention those who profit from selling military hardware. Of course since Dumbya was NEVER elected so he can NEVER RISE to the level of being the worst president. He is FAR WORSE than that can ever say. He is absolutely evil.
Carter on the other hand I believe is a funadmentally decent man who was the REAL Christian among recent presidents. He had some bad luck, and luck really counts when you are president. Just imagine if the raid to rescue the hostages in Iran had succeeded with minimal violence which I'm sure was one of his goals. The planning and execution of same is not the kind of micro management that presidents do. With the failure of the mission he perhaps should have given Iran a tougher pill to swallow? The implied threat of Reagan was to nuke Iran, while he had cohorts undermining the Carter negotiations in Iran also promising the carrots of miltiary hardware to be SOLD to Iran....Iran-Contra remember? Carter also had a Congress that was anything but cooperative.

I think he was not a good president, but he was what we needed to heal after Watergate. We could no longer trust the government, and when Ford pardoned Nixon, a lot of people felt like he was also part of the problem. Carter was a fresh face when we needed one--someone we finally felt like we could trust. He is much better as an elder statesman, though--his work with charities such as Habitat for Humanity are a great example of what people can do for each other.

Well, I was going to give the obvious answer, but John* already gave it, so I'll just add to his answer by saying "You go, John!"
Reagan and the Iranians arranged the "release" of the hostages to coincide with his inauguration to make it seem as though he was the great rescuer.
Anyone who doesn't know that should be forced to go back to high school, or to read the news from that time period, or to learn to read or SOMETHING!
Jimmy Carter was the most honest man we've had in that office - ever - and was treated like rotten meat by everyone around him.
He was unprepared to be treated the way he was. He assumed he'd be treated with the same respect he showed everyone else.
My GOD, they made fun of his child ~ just like they made fun of Chelsea Clinton.
You can't stoop any lower than that!
His family was known for their public service.
Of course, I suppose that's outside the realm of understanding for SOME people.
He and Bill Clinton are geniuses, and are loved and respected around the world for their brilliance and their fairness.
Who can tell us what GWB is thought of around the world?
We were once the great and all-powerful Oz, where we were kinder, gentler, and more wealthy, more blessed, and where more people were gainfully employed and there was a vast middle class (middle income class, that is).
Now we're reduced to being thought of worldwide as a bully nation, a great group of liars and cheats, greedy bastards who'll do anything, tell any lie, kill any women, children and old people just to get control of the oil in the middle east, AND, as a nation that "elects" one of the least learned men in our history.
Jimmy Carter and his wife work every day to help their fellow man, and they put their money where their mouth is.
What do Pubs do?

Perhaps the nicest president the US has ever had. He also proves that nice guys finish last. He has been a great ex-president. He has started great organisations like Habitat for Humanity and others. He however had a horrible foreign policy and what occurred in Iran was horrible, especially for those American prisoners that he just could not help until his last hours in office. To make a long explanation short great guy, bad president.

Jimmy Crater's intelligence was greater than a bowl of yogurt when he got elected.
Been goin' downhill since.
But character...
....At least he's not a crook. Never did the lecture circuit, and has lived -AFAIK- an exemplary Christian example (no irony implied whatsoever, I am serious) in his retirement.
Ultimately the question is what do you want in a President, deep down.
Well...220 years on we still haven't made up our minds about that. And the Clinton terms gave evidence of the fact.

Jimmy Carter seems to be a very nice man, but being a president was way over his head—he did a poor job. However, I'm tired of blaming Americans for terrorist's actions.

You are quite right. He is well meaning but well meaning people can be very dangerous if they lack common sense. This is his problem. Jimmy Carter is not an evil man but his actions have allowed evil men to do terrible things.

Most ignorant, inaccurate, grossly misrepresented questioin EVER. Reagan dealt more with Iran than any other President before or since. Komeni held US hostages to HELP REAGAN GET ELECTED.
How young or stupid does someone have to be to not know this? Don't they teach history in schools anymore?

Worst president of my lifetime. He did those things you said and he paid for it big time, but so did our embassy workers and their families. He did have one redeeming quality though. He was basically honest. He did not run the presidency, it ran him. he was inept and as a result we had the double digit decade. Double digit interest rates, inflation, and unemployment. The economy was in total shambles, and no gas at any price.

GWB can thank JEC III for one thing.
It was ol' Jimmy that was the first president to refer to 'nukular' energy. And Jimmy was a Naval Acadamy Grad and studied 'nukular' physics.*
