If the baby is a newborn (0-3 months), they shouldn't have anything that doesn't #1: come out of their mama or #2: is not formula. I would hope you have spoken with your pediatrician about this issue. The current rule of thumb is formula for the first six months, then gradually introduce foods one at a time over a period of two to three weeks per food (this will help with sorting out any allergies to food items). In addition, babies need to suck. This is what they do for emotional well being and development. A newborn does not even know how to eat from a spoon and it making the baby eat food it's system is not ready for (like chicken and rice) will be frustrating for you and your baby. I am certain you are tired and probably feel that if you fed the baby some solids it would sleep better. But what you may end up doing is giving the baby a really bad stomach ache which will cause the baby pain, thus the baby will cry more, be awake more, sleep less and make you more frustrated. My advice to you would be to #1 call the pediatrician and #2 get someone to watch the baby even a few hours a couple of times a week or overnight if you have someone who will do that for you. I did that for my daughter when her kids were waking up at night. It really does help to get the parents some good sleep. Good luck to you!

boiled chicken and rice can be ground up and feed as early as 6-7 months. But start first on the basic stage one veggies. You will see them in The baby food isle. Yes you can and its awesome if you make them and blend them yourself but make sure you check witch first stages are safest. (bananas, carrots, sweet potatos, green beans etc.) They suggest one week of each veg. to make sure of no allergies. (i never did and didn't have trouble but some do and it is a rule of thumb) But do only introduce one food at a time. Then as you see its ok add another. Make sure not to do the sweets first(apples, pears ect.) other wise they will only want these and may never get accustomed to the taste of other health foods and you will have a fight on your hands or an unbalanced child! Do the blands first! Good luck congratulations!

Newborns drink baby formula
When they are 4-6 months old they start on baby food in a jar at your local grocery store
You need to see a nutritionist and get educated on how to feed a newborn on up because it sounds like you have no clue.

Newborns should only be having breast milk or formula till about 4 months old...then you start them out with rice cereal, and work through rice cereal, oat and then wheat cereal...then start to add the veggies...sweet potato/squash...leaving the green vegis till last(cause gas) and then move on from there.

NO it is not ok to feed this to your newborn . babies should eat only breast milk or formula until at least 4-6 months of age at which ppoint you start them on a single grain cereal such as rice mixed with a little bit of baby milk . then give that a while . i believe it is around 6 months you can introduce other baby foods that are jar foods .
i would talk to your babies doctor to make sure . only your doctor can give you a safe time to start other foods as we dont kow your babies health / developemental status

I would say probably around 4-6 months old until they can get the swallowing thing down and sit up well enough so they dont choke. If in doubt, ask your pediatrician.
