I am so sick of remakes...is originality dead? It would be one thing if the remakes were better, but for the most part (and off the the top of my head I cannot think of a good remake, just bad ones) they suck.

I thought the remake of 'Flight of the Phoenix' was better than the original, mostly because of Hugh Laurie :) But seriously, the first 30 minutes of the original has no dialogue...so I had to turn it off. A remake I didn't like was 'The Shining' because I'm a huge Stephen King fan and the original was perfect, I just don't think it needed to be redone.

I have yet to see a remake that topped the original, tho Sabrina was pretty good. whoever decided to remake Pink Panther should be shot, the movie was perfect in its original form.

Worse remake I've seen recently was "The Producers". It was horrible. "The Haunting" was pretty bad, too.
Better then the first? None really jump to mind (why is it easier to be negative?). I love the remastered Star Wars.

Hate them! Often refuse to watch them on principle.
The Italian job remake not even set in italy!??? DUH!
Worst of all, Pearl Harbour! Dont even get me started! TORA TORA TORA was brilliant, and covered both sides well. Pearl Harbour was agonising
