I heard of this place called the "Valley of Silence" located in central Mexico, in the state of Durango. Numerous reports affirm that on this hill if you leave an automovile in neutral, the vehicle will travel slowly uphill as if defiing the laws of motion. I would like a rasonable explanation for this phenomenon.

Ewing Drive exit off of US Route 208 South in Franklin Lakes, NJ does the same thing.... pretty crazy, I've tried it. It's an illusion but I'm gonna pretend that it's the ghost of a lady who was killed there pushing my car away from the intersection so I don't suffer the same horrible fate she did.

It is an area where the surrounding land actually slopes downward so when you look at the horizon, you think the road is level or pointed upward when in reality it is not. It is an optical illusion caused by the angle of the horizon.

Perception. it sounds like so many Mystery Spots and other road side attractions. The power of suggestion and a good snake oil salesman can do wonderous things.
