The Moon is significantly less dense than the Earth. Although it is about a quarter the diameter of the Earth, the Moon contains barely over 1% of the mass that the Earth contains. Because gravity is directly proportional to an object's mass, the Moon has a relatively weak gravitational field when compared to denser bodies with similar volume.
What the moon's gravity being one-sixth of the earth's means in practice is that
(a) if you jump up, you will jump higher than you would wearing the same spacesuit on earth
(b) if you jump forwards, you will jump further than you would wearing the same spacesuit on earth
(c) people with heart conditions should on average live longer on the Moon than they would on earth
(d) the Moon has been unable to retain an atmosphere. It long ago floated off into space.
(e) Because of its weaker gravity, heavy elements were more evenly distributed throughout the Moon's total mass during formation, and can be mined on or close to its surface.
(f) Weak gravity also means a low escape velocity, making it an attractive base of operations for other solar system explorations. It would conserve fuel stocks better to have a low escape velocity, as it is less effort to launch a spaceship,

Gravity does not reside. **Any 2 masses** will have a gravitational force of attraction. Moon is 1 mass. Any other mass in the universe will exhibit gravity towards moon.

Yes. Everything has gravity. The more massive the thing, the more gravitational force it can exert. I think the moon has about one-sixth the gravity of earth.

Gravity exists everywhere in the universe....all masses exert a gravitational pull on all other masses.
The gravitational acceleration experienced on the moon is about 1/6 that of the acceleration experienced on the Earth.

Yes, with very low gravitational field. The earth moving in elliptical motion around the sun because, earth has low mass than sun, that's why earth revolve around the sun, approximately the moon has less dense than that of earth that's why moon elliptical or in circular motion it revolve around the earth. Means gravity is proportional to mass of an object.

Yes. All objects exert gravity toward one another. It's just a smaller object than earth, so the pull is not as strong.
