I am from Canada and it seems as though religion is in every nations government. There is such a thing as morals but thats comman sense. Why do we have to base our morals on religious teachings? Why do we have these laws that only seem to pertain to the residance of our nations that live here hundreds of years ago. Now our society is so diverse that our religious beliefs in our laws dont benifit those of different religions. I think its bias and unfair. If we are one nation then lets have laws thats will be universal enough as to meet everybodys standards and not just a percentage of people. Can we truly become one nation as a hole and accomadate every religion?

It shouldn't be. Worship and talk about any and all things that matter to you at your place of worship. I will respect your beliefs and I only ask that you do the same for me. When it comes to our government lets rule by the laws created by our government not you religion or mine.

It is written into the Constitution of the United States that religion is tolerated but it is not necessarily the bases of our society. We as citizens have a choice in this matter.
Many of the current loud voices proclaim, or obviously strongly suggest, that "part of gods plan for them is democracy American style." This is, of course, political bunk bed talk for "we can rule the world with our goodness."
The problem is that others do not understand that our guided missiles are the words of an American civil religion. You see, we kill others for their good.
"There is not one selfless bone in our body politic, and it hurts us more than it does them." This is an exaggeration!

"One Nation, under God"
"Swear to tell the truth, the whole truth so help me God"
"In God we trust"
=== all sounds good to me === unless your from the Nation of Islam where all they do is twist the truth, kill, lie, decieve, cause suffering of innocent people - I would rather live in a country that is one under God then live in a country that is full of big pussys who where pajamas all day long

Church and State should always be separate. Combine the two and you've got a dangerous tyranny.
