its having trouble realizing when disks are inside it, it keepse freezing up, and it is constantly making a humming noise, what should i do to make it work?

My ps2 was doing this for awhile, it started by not reading dvd's, then games wouldnt work either. I took the casing off and cleaned it out with a can of dust off. Odds are it is probably just really dusty, because as soon as i did this it worked fine again.

MINE USE TO DO THAT! just borrow or buy a dvd lens cleaner from someone, it helps so much. i did have to insert a disc twice to get it to read it, but i think that disc was dirty :P

Ebay has many programs like this availiable.. i fixed mine this way.
