You are part of the human conciousness and experience. The point of life is to help in some small way to support humanity, which is striving to understand the universe, how it works, where it is from, and why does it exist.
I think that the Universe is a living evolving thing, and it wants answers to these questions. Humanity is one of the tools that it has evolved to get those answers. In learning how the universe was created, we may be able to initiate new ones, enabling the universe to reproduce.
Your life is part of that. The 'point' of your life is to live it.

The Point of life is for man to join together as a whole and do something as one concious movement. To become advanced enough to move from this cruel outer surface to the blessed inner lands. From the outside porch of existence to the inner rooms of existence.

To reduce pain and increase pleasure, all else is lost to oblivion. In a thousand years, all your accomplishments will be forgotten. If your bones happened to be fossilized, even they will eventually turn to dust. Its an astronomical certainty that our earth will be burnt to a crisp by the supernova of our sun (not that we'll be around to worry about it.)
Without proof of an afterlife, even that is fanciful thinking.
Therefore, the bottom line is, the point of life is temporary...decrease pain and increase pleasure.

The point of life from what perspective? From an evolutionary perspective, it's to procreate. Every cell in our respective bodies is hardwired for procreation -- passing along our DNA. From a Biblical perspective, the point is to serve God. From a humanitarian perspective, it is to serve humanity. From a civic perspective, it is to serve your community. From the individaul perspective -- we must create our own destinies; but, the Golden Rule (do unto others as you would have them do unto you) provide the foundation.
