You need money to adopt a baby/child and a whole lot of it
You need a job that pays well with benefits so you can provide for the child
You need a house so the child has a place to live
So basically there is NO WAY that a 16 will be able to adopt since you do not have these things available

The best way to go about it, is to wait. Not only are you legally too young to adopt (I'm a paralegal), but you're also too young in mind. At sixteen, ask yourself, "Do I really want a baby at this age?" or do you really want to be able to go out to the bar/clubs or whatever you're into, when you get older? Think about it, at 21yrs old, you'll have a five year old (if you adopt an infant). I almost made a mistake at 17 and had a baby, and I look back from time to time and say to myself that at this point in my life, I'm so glad I don't have any kids to hold me back. My friends, at 23 yrs old, have babies, and get jealous of me that I can come and go whenever I please. You can have a baby whenever you want so it's best to wait because once you do, there's no giving it back! Hope this helps. Good luck.

Why would you adopt an infant at the age of 16? Do you have a high school diploma let a lone a collage degree (at least a BS/BS degree) will you be able to..... you know what i have no need to go further with this answer because im sure your answer to my questions above are NO!!!!!

You can't adopt at 16 you have to be 21 in most states to adopt, some states it 18.

Do you have a job making enough to buy diapers, formula, food, clothing, pay rent, electricity, water, gas, car payment, gasoline, Dr. bills, school activities, school lunch, toys, gifts, furniture, fun activities, vacations, pets, pet food, taxes, daycare?
Are you willing to stay awake all night while the baby is crying or sick? Watch the child constantly when you are not at work? Deal with temper tantrums, behavior problems, illnesses? Find baby sitters when the one you have quits?
Are you ready to give up all of your teen age activities, tv, going out with friends, even being able to go to the bathroom or take a shower when you want or need to?
I know that having a cute sweet little baby sounds like fun but it is really hard work.. You are still a child yourself. Please enjoy your childhood. Then someday when you are older, you might be ready for the above things or not.

no one will allow a 16 year old to adopt. how are you going to support the child? do you have a job that pays more that minimum wage? where will you live? what about finishing school? you have too much of your life a head of you to be worry about a baby. there is plenty of time for children when you are older.

the best way to adopt is to be 21 , have a secure marriage , financially stable , no criminal records for either parent, and to go through home studies and fill out applications.
there are set regulations for adoption .
