Red Dragon is excellent; read the other two in the series as well. You'll enjoy them if you liked Red Dragon.
Currently reading a Clive Barker novel called Abarat; it's ok but a little child-like in an immature way rather than fun, if you know what I mean.
I just read 'The Night Listener' by Armistead Maupin. Excellent book! The movie's coming out soon, but already it looks like they changed a lot.
A few books earlier, I read the last of the Dark Tower series by Stephen King. I loved his books growing up, but have lost interest over the last 5-10 years. But I'm happy to say, the Dark Tower books did not lose their oomph. In fact, I found the last book to be amazing!

I read the Charlie Parker series of books by John Connelly (White Road, etc..). He's just an awesome writer of murder mysteries... you really feel like you are there. Earlier this summer I read Angels & Demons, then the Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown. I liked the first book Angels & Demons better. :) I also read The Third Secret by Steve Berry (excellent too). I've been a busy reader by the pool this summer!

I'm almost done with "Suttree" by Cormac McCarthy, which is just incredible. I think it's his masterpiece, even better than Blood Meridian. The last book I read before that was the "A Game of You," the fifth volume of The Sandman graphic novel series, and the best so far I think, and "Wonder Boys" by Michael Chabon, which was pretty good.

I am glad to see I am not the only person who reads more than one book at a time.
I am reading a novelized biography of Freud - fascinating - by Irving Stone called "The Passions of the Mind". I am also reading a memoir by a woman who worked with Marcel Proust. (I just got another biography of him out of the library to compare.)
I've read lots of fiction for most of the summer, and needed a break.
