It is a black country kitchen gas cook stove made by sears/kenmore. It has the old cloth coating over the wires so I know it is very old. Has a cast iron base with claw type legs. can anyone help me.I have called sears with no luck due to the fact that there is no model number on the stove.

The restoration of "vintage stoves" and "antique stoves" is a fairly big business. There are many businesses that buy, restore, and/or resell the stoves. A Yahoo search for either of the catagories (include the quotation marks) will turn up hundreds of sites that will identify and value your stove.

Good luck with your search.

What kind of condition is the stove in? Do you think the model plate has been removed or fallen off? Did you look in the drawers (if any) to see if the model plate was in one?

The fact that it has the claw type legs is about the best indication that it is old. The cloth (asbestos) covered wire was used for high temperature areas through the 60's I think.

I did a quick search on "vintage kenmore gas range" and got a lot of possibilities. You may have to go through some of the pages and select a few that sound promising and send a picture of your stove. This is the best idea I could come up with.
