Laws are different state to state.
Not sure that a private agent can help.
Get in touch with your state government and ask them what you need to do.
I have a friend in Jersey, who pursued support from the ex, and has been able to have him arrested for "willful non-payment".
He can't bond out of jail. He has to come up with like two thirds of the dough he owes, otherwise he sits injail until his court date. Court will pass judgement on how much he needs to pay monthly, in addition to his regularly expected payments, to make up for what he owes in back child support.
In my state they post pics of dead beat parents in the paper, and take away your driver's license.
Consequences may not net you the cash, but that money is owed to the child by the absent parent, so the other present parent should try to make it happen.

you should really contact your local state attorney's office. My mother is owed over 180,00 for me and my sister, and ever since i could remember like 7 or 8 my mom has been in court once a year to see if my father has been paying, if he didn't pay for more then half the year they'd put him in jail. Plus the state attorney offices can help find him anywhere in the u.s. and garish his wages of any kind, wether it be from working to unemployment and social security. Good Luck to you!

An attorney is the best person to hire to collect the money. You will need to pay an attorney, but if the suit is settled in your favor, attorney's fees will be part of the settlement.

Good luck - either way you go you will still have a hard time collecting unless they have assets that can be taken from them or bank acct. that can be frozen. Even if you filed a charge against him for Non-Support which is a felony all that will happen is that he will go to jail and still you will not get paid. You can even have his license suspended and all that does is prevent him from getting to and from work there for that is another reason for him to say that he can not get to work.

The sad truth is you will probably never collect much of it and certainly not all of it. You can have him put in jail but that still won't get you any money.
