Take a look at the link below -- the plant there looks a lot like yours, a croton as some others have noted. Hope this helps.

The plant picutured is a variety of "croton". It usually likes bright light, not direct sun.

I'm a horticulturalist, looks like a croton that has been grown in the shade. Can't promise.

It's a variation of the Rubber tree - Ficus elasticus.

I am not certain. It might be some kind of dieffenbachia, but I can't be certain as that reddish color does not seem appropriate.

On a second look, I think I am wrong, but you can look at dieffenbachia pictures and see what you think.
