When your computer is cycling on, you should see an option to pop up the system menu, ussually f-10, or it may give you the option to start in safe mode.

Sometimes all it takes is resetting the system through safe mode.

Unfortunatly, I have no idea what an HDD is.

IF the problem persists, write down the tech specs for the disfunctional component and find web access (friend, library, school, work). You can search the troublshooting guides and perhaps download a driver or something if you need it.

IF you have a windows XP disk, you can pop that in while the computer is off and it will give you the option of repairing windows.

Keep in mind if you go to this step you WILL loose your data temporarily. You can usually recover it with a program you can download off the internet, just make sure you do not WASH your disk, and the data will still be there.

Hi,
Do you hear any Noise from the HDD? Which HDD are they?? If they are IBM then God Bless them. They are Rubbish but if it is Seagate then they do not blow that easily. If you hear the Noise in the HDD then it can be a problem, but i suspect it is the Spike you are getting on the Motherboard. Try to connect the HDD in another computer and see it it recognises then its the problem with the HDD. Change the HDD ribbon cable. Check the HDD connector are connected properly or not? Let me know what happenes after this. Post your question on my siter HardwareGuroo.com Forums and i will keep on replying you. On yahoo i won't be able to reply again.
Good Luck

Any pc that I actual have ever seen (shop for particular order) have consistently incorporate 5400 rpm drives... it fairly is a potential saving option because it fairly is for use in laptops in particular. the actual loading cases as quickly as the device is up aand working isn't too substantial except you're doing distinctive gaming. in case you're extreme approximately swaping thechronic out, I maximum fairly say to circulate with a great Statechronic (SSD) over any platter form. they're extra effective on potential and generate much less warmth, and that they have a great ingredient approximately being great speedy besides.

You need a new hard drive. The cost of rebuilding your existing one to possibly restore some data is not worth it. You can been looking at thousands for a software company to attempt to restore data from your hard drive even though they can not guarantee anything. Just go to BestBuy and get a new hard drive.

Did you disconnect it with the power still on?? Either way, it sounds like you need a new one. I doubt if you can retrieve any data, but you can try.

I'm going to be the first to say it, and I rarely do, time for a replacement.
But, you can take it to a tech and check if it's recoverable first..

try and reconfigure it in your BIOS. Make sure you have it plugged in correctly at both ends.
