When you die, what do you fear you will go through? drowning? car wreck? Im not morbid, but me and my friend were having a discussion on what we feared, she fears she will die in a fire and i fear drowning. Just curious, i wanted to know what else haunts the human mind with death and dieing. (I know this question does not go under entertainment, but i couldnt find anything that could catagorize this question other than polls and surveys)

I fear being in pain. I'd prefer to die a quick death, and maybe feel a moments pain. I don't have any pain tolerance, so anything that just hurts and hurts would be horrible- burning to death, being trapped in a car accident, someone torturing & murdering me, etc.

The fear of burning to death would be my greatest fear.

I know it wouldn't matter in the grand scheme of things, but since I'm on a rescue squad I've seen some gruesome sights, I don't want to be killed in a car wreck either. Having my body lie around for a few hours while the troopers investigate the accident, and then have every volunteer fireman lift the sheet to look at my remains as they wait for the medical examiner kind of sucks too. I'm not really afraid of it, but its an unpleasant reality.

I've come to terms with death, there's been so much in my family the last couple of years. But dying a specific way, I don't fear that... I fear dying not having fully reached my educational & spirtual potential or not doing enough good with my life.

Death is a natural process of life, that will inflict everyone, that everyone must know by now, is unpreventable.

My fear is wasting my life, the time I have hear on earth. I hate the idea of waking up some day in my old age and thinking "Oh my God, what have I done in my years here?"

Time is the one thing you can't replace when you lose it. I don't want my last thoughts on earth to be "why didn't I ...?"

I don't fear death so much as I fear NOT dying. I fear lingering....I fear pain and discomfort....I fear not being able to care for myself or being able to end it if it gets that bad. There are worse things than death.

That I will die before my grandchildren get to know me.
I used to fear that I would die before my children knew me.
Now I have very young grandchildren and the old fear is back.....
