I got an email telling me it was being discontinued on August 17th, seems unlikely to me.

Same as Yahoo will close next year.. Send this message to all your contacts so that they won't be deleted... I can hardly believe someone actually believes this... It's a simple spam message... What will they come up with next :))

I would highly doubt that yahoo would be discontinuing messenger. They have just came out with a new release, it would be no sense. The email you received was probably phony.

Messenger in Yahoo Mail isn't loading suitable. I attempt signing in despite if it does not do it the 1st time or 2d or third. while it ultimately shows me online it says I have no contacts online while i understand that there are human beings online. I attempt sending messages and the guy under no circumstances gets it. they attempt sending me and that i under no circumstances acquire. it particularly is while it keeps me signed in long sufficient to objective sending messages. in many cases signs and indicators me out interior a couple of minutes, although human beings say I seem online on their touch lists. I certainly have 2 yahoo money owed and am having this challenge on the two money owed on my computing device (works ok at artwork). i attempted each and all of the stairs stated above on the two browsers. i began out having this challenge 4 days in the past. i'm employing a Mac OS X 10.6.8 on the two Safari 5.a million.9 and recent version of Chrome.

Unless you see it on the evening news, or get an actual letter from Yahoo, it ain't likely to happen. Those kinds of rumors and hoaxes have been going around forever..
