Voice of America is on shortwave, and probably on-line too.

LIKE BIRDMAN SAID THERE IS A RADIO TUNER INS WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER(get a version before 9.0). YOU CAN TUNE IT TO LISTEN TO VARIOUS TYPES OF STATIONS.
I just wanted to make sure you got that cuz most people are just giving you a station name and it is unknown if you live within the frequency range to even get them.

National Public Radio. The English and grammar will always be correct and you will learn a thing or two while you are at it.

NPR is an excellent resource. They do play music, but mostly they air interesting, intelligent talk shows. Most of their personalities are very intelligent and well-spoken, so it's good to listen to them to improve your English. Go to www.npr.com and then click on "NPR Program Stream" to listen to them online. I hope this helps you!

hmm... I don't know of any, off the top of my head, that don't play music - but
you can get podcasts for free from itunes. Most are just people talking.
Or there is NPR (www.npr.org) - it's on the left-hand side - click on either Hourly Newscast or Program Stream.
