You should take the tram, it's really easy.

I went last week and by boyfriend insisted we get a taxi which i wasn't happy about but he charged us 52 euros (£39) we had to get a cab on the way back because of our flight times which our hotel booked for us which was 37 euros from Dam square.

Also when your going out and about Dam is so small that you can walk everywhere the furthest we went was to the Van Gough museum and that took us 20 minutes

Have fun, it's a wonderful city and the dutch are lovely and relaxed (no guessing why)

The airport is called skipol and it is a massive international airport about 20 miles away from Amsterdam. Why dont you take advantage of their fantastic public transport and get a train? There is a station directly under the airport and is doesn't cost anywhere near as much as a taxi and you can buy your ticket from a machine on the platform. No fare dodging though, the Dutch really hate that and they come down hard on you, plus Its worth paying the fare for such a fantastic transport system! Hope this helps

I used a taxi from Schipol airport to the hotel Casa 400(in the centre of the city) and it was about 20 euros.

Take the train, its the easiest and cheapest way to go. I had an 8 hr layover in Amsterdam and wanted to see the city. The train will drop you off in a nice area of the city, so no worries.

Have a good trip!

average taxi will run you anywhere between 35-40 euros.

Train one way from Schipol to Amsterdam Centraal is 3.60 euros and a taxi from the trainstation to the hotel will run you under 15 euros.

My advice... take a train.

Take the train - it's less than a 15 minute journey. An adult ticket costs 3.60 and there's a train every few minutes.

If you need a taxi to your hotel you can get one from the taxi rank outside Centraal Station.

hi Mark specific you're able to have adequate time as passport administration and immigration is fairly speedy at Schipol. the risk-free practices is at your boarding gate. i could advise you be certain you comprehend the place your boarding gate is first, as that's frequently an prolonged walk. i could in basic terms spend 15-20 minutes out section schipol airport or on the outdoors fact deck that's on the roof of the airport.
