Is Mikey championship material, well no, obviously not. Is he the worst driver ever? No. He's got some great points about him, and he can drive..but right now he's definitely not at the top of his game, but he has the desire to get in that car and driver every race and he does it with a smile. He likes it, enjoys it, and he's not in it for the wrong reasons. Heck, he's one heck of a salesperson too.
A haircut?? Who the heck cares! His response to that is Buffy likes it..which I suppose is all that truly matters.

David Reutimann is someplace round a fifteenth position motive force in good kit. I have continually loved him and characteristic felt sorry for the concern he develop into put in. It quite sucked at the same time as they does no longer enable him take his own factors with him at the same time as he moved from the 00 vehicle to the 40 4 vehicle previously this 12 months. they have some new workers over there and besides the reality that they have got got here upon appears to be like operating. Mikey somewhat needs to get out of his vehicle and positioned all his efforts into making the crew better. 3 STR8 N 08!!!

Mikey is a Daytona winner, so needless to say HE CAN DRIVE. You must be new to NASCAR. Michael Waltrip has a lot on his plate this year, what with trying to drive and create a new team.
To Quote Wikpedia -----
While many of his competitors started racing cars when they were barely old enough to walk, Michael Waltrip waited until his teen years to start tooling around the midwest in go-kart races.
Waltrip's stock-car career got off the ground in 1981, whe he captured the Mini-Modified division track championship at Kentucky Speedway. A year later, Waltrip entered the Goody's Dash Series, where he won the series championship in 1983 and was voted the circuit's most popular driver in 1983 and 1984.
Waltrip made his Cup debut in 1985 in the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte. He finished 28th in that race and finished 57th in the series standings after just five starts.
In 1986, driving for Dick Bahre, Waltrip finished second in the Cup rookie of the year race to Alan Kulwicki on the strength of a pair of 11th-place finishes at Martinsville and Pocono.
Waltrip began running Busch Series events, making five starts for his brother Darrell's fledgling team. It didn't take long for Waltrip to make an impact, as he took the checkered flag at Dover in just his fourth start.
Waltrip's most memorable Busch Series effort came in 1993 at Bristol. After taking the checkered flag, Waltrip made a "Polish victory lap" in honor of Alan Kulwicki, who had lost his life in a plane crash on his way to that weekend's events. What's more, he proposed to his wife Buffy in Victory Lane that day.
While Waltrip had always been a competitive driver through the '80s and '90s -- he had even won The Winston in 1996 -- he had the dubious honor of having the longest active streak of Cup point-paying starts without a victory. That 463-race streak ended at the 2001 Daytona 500. Later that same season, he finished second behind teammate Dale Earnhardt Jr. in the Pepsi 400, also at Daytona.
Waltrip's team Waltrip-Jasper Racing will field three Toyota Camrys in Nextel Cup racing for the 2007 season. Dale Jarrett current driver of the #88 UPS Ford will be bringing UPS with him as a sponsor in an as-yet unnumbered car, joining Michael Waltrip in the 2007 season as a driver for his Toyota team. The third team, #00, will be co-sponsored by Burger King and Domino's Pizza. A third driver hasn't been announced as of July 16th, 2006.

You have to be able to drive to win a NASCAR race. He was good back in the day, but I agree lately he has not been doing too well. And Jaylyn, he wrecked on the caution because Robby Gordon purposely slammed on his brakes right in front of him. It wasn't Mikey's fault at all.

You must be pretty young. Waltrip was a good driver back in the day. I'm no oldie, but I know Dale Jr. can never be the driver that Michael Waltrip is/was.

He is pretty smart actually and he can drive he just isnt a great all around racer. He does better at larger tracks. Signing DJ was a good move for him and toyota he is going to do very well. Just think where jr would be without his father.

Michael can drive, and he is a great guy! And by the way, if it's family that gets you into racing, then I guess that explains why Jr. is racing. If he didn't have the Earnhardt name, he would probably flipping burgers at Mc. Donalds! :) Go Kasey!
