People don't care about the debt in budget their kids will inherit because of current tax breaks that only get them like 400 bucks a year... they really don't care about the enviroment or global warming... what's up with that?

Seems this way to me. I don't see the older generation looking out for the my generation. I see a bunch of spoiled babyboomers.

people need to shut the f up about global warming. It happens all the time and thats why we have ice ages and heating trends, its the natural earth cycle and 100 years ago it was hotter, and 50 years ago we had global cooling in the media. So thats hogwash. If people are so concerned about it, why not attack the chinese and indian countries who have no restrictions on pollution. The US is doing the best they can with awareness and enforcement. The rest of the world is destroying the environment but western liberals want me to buy a hybrid. If everyone in the US bikes to work, the exploding populations in asia are singlehandedly destroying the world. Debt? the last time we were without debt was the early 1800s under president andrew jackson. Why worry about it now? Trillions of dollars in debt so even the billions that we put toward that debt every year does not make a dent.

It's the society. Americans (as a whole) have become a taking people (pushed by advertisements, hollywood, etc.) and less of a giving people. They've become very ego-centrical that they don't really care much about the future. Why should they? They won't be around, so who cares. Unfortunatly, this is a vicious cycle, as the next generation will most likely end up taking and make it worse off for the next, until we cause the demise of the future. How sad.

Americans are concerned with only worldly things... money, clothes, etc., etc. America DOES live in the NOW. I guess since 9/11, people have been worried about thinking about what could come. No more tragedies does America want.

Sounds like a broad generalization to me.

I'm an American with no debt, who is very concerned about the environment and international events.
