Although many must die, it seems that we see few bodies.

Birds blend in pretty well with the landscape, and their bodies deteriote fast. I took a walk once, and saw a dead bird on the path. On my way back, about an hour later, the bird was gone, there were just some bones and feathers.

I read somewhere that bugs and small animals take the bodies apart really fast.

It's called the Circle of Life. Bird flies around. Bird ages. Bird dies. Lucky fox happens across dead bird. Supper! Said fox is then hit by car. Poor fox. Big buzzard sees dead fox. Supper! And so on and so forth.

Either your not looking or you live somewhere that has alot of scavengers that get them before you get the chance to see them.
