it stays connected for seconds then says cable unplugged, by the way i made the cable myself they told me it must be crossed, but i made it without a cross, but yesterday it worked very fine, i even used the internet on both PC's using the network

flaky cable just change the cable and see if the problem still persists

Replace the cable, see if that solves the problem.
Sometimes with a little use, the connectors become flaky.
Especially ones made by hand.

This happened to me too. I solved this having the network speed limited to 10Mbps. Right Click the device in Device manager and goto some tab and select the speed from automatic to 10 Mbps. Thats all.....

GET A NEW CABLE....CHECK FOR TIGHT FIT.
