I'm allergic to most soaps so I understand your problem. Ivory is actually a soap. You need a cleanser that says "Soap Free" on the label. The only one I can use that doesn't irritate me is Oil of Olay Soap Free Cleanser for Sensitive skin. It comes in a bottle is is only about $4 and last for a while since it doesn't come in a bar but a bottle. Good Luck!

Sounds like the doctor only gave you a general idea.
First I would get a second opinion.
You maybe allergic to the extra stuff in soap, like fragrances, or lotions.
Also shampoos may be affecting you, when you rinse it washes down your body.
Did you change anything in the last month or so.
perfume, lotions, soaps, shampoo, deodorant, suntan lotion.
Eliminate anything that was new, or changed
next, if nothing changed
Go to a health store, they sell soaps what have nothing but the bare minimum.
Good Luck
My sister had the same problem, she is allergic to vitamin E, and the shampoo she used had Vitamin E, gave her a rash.

There are products out there especially made for women's genitalia. One manufacturer is Vagisil another is Messengil, you can find either or both at drugstores and even perhaps mass merchandisers like WalMart.
Also never use any soap internally, you can wash on the sides and around that area. I take a soaking bath every day and use my regular soap (Irish Spring) but never use it internally.

I suggest trying Shaklee's Meadow Blend Hand & Body Wash. This is a soap-free cleanser. Great for sensitive skin. Formulated with extracts of arnica and juniper and also contains wheat germ oil to soothe and soften. Gentle enough for face and body.
Soap-free Cleansing Bar is also available.
For more info or questions, feel free to contact me.

Have you asked your doctor about a baby soap? I have very dry sensitive skin and I use Johnson baby wash on my body, but many because I like the scent. I don't use anything but warm water on my face and it gets perfectly clean.
However ASK your doctor before you try the baby soap.

I actually have the same problem, I have begun using Summers Eve frangrance free feminine wash. It helps me still feel clean on the "outside" then about once every 2 weeks I use the new stuff called "rePHresh" its pretty pricey but well worth it. It rebalances PH in your system and eliminates odors from intercourse, your period, etc... and if you only use it when needed a box will last you quite a while and I think its about $17 a box at wal-mart.

There are lots of soaps available for you. If you happen to be "sensitive" and want privacy, ask your pharmacist for assistance. He or she will recommend several different brands. You can just pick one or several and get to know your reaction and then decide which is best for you.
