Why would a husband be upset at his wife for glancing at his bank statement that was left out openly?

I don't know the full circumstances behind this situation, but taking it at face value, I would say he might have something to hide. It may not be something bad, it might be something as simple as, he bought her a present and he doesn't want her to know how much he spent on it. It could also be something more devious. He could have bought a girlfriend something and by his wife looking at the statement and seeing a purchase from Victoria's Secret when she never got anything from him that came from Victoria's Secret, then he's busted. Also, if it was left out in the open, and he sees her glancing at it, maybe he feels that she is checking up on him and seeing if she can catch him in something unsavory. This feeling of not being trusted could also cause him to get upset at her for checking up on him. There could be many reasons why he might get upset, but I personally believe that there are more devious reasons than there are innocent ones. Just my opinion.

If it was me i wouldn't wnat you to know.

1) cheating on you with his own money?
2) has so much money didn't want you to know?
3) might have new woman and swing back and fourth?
4) Gamble plm?
5) stealing money from someone?
6) Rob banks?
7) Etc.

There are so many reason why find out more and see what you can find. and First ask him why are you so upset that i looked at your letter that is wide openly left out?? Is there something you want to tell me that you don't want me to find out? If not then I don't see why you upset about? You know if you hide something from me and I will still always find out no matter what. Be the first person to tell me before someone do. If someone told me and you tell me second marriage is over.

If you trust me and I trust you in my life in your hand your choice to make it marriage work or not. There will be no time table only if someone told me before you. will end.

What a jerk. A husband and wife should know what their bank statement is. In fact they should have a joint bank account. Read the book "Surrender to Marriage". or any book on helping couples have a good marriage. Money matters will be one of their topics.

I don't know why he'd be upset if he's not trying to hide something...He must not be hiding anything or he wouldn't have left the statement where she could glance at it...Is it not a joint account? Is this an actual case or a presumption?

He shouldn't be, seems to me that if he got really upset then he is most likely hiding something from you regarding what he is doing with the money vs what he is telling you that he is doing with the money. I would be asking some questions b/c that is not something to get mad about.

I don't know. Money should be shared in a marriage, and unless he is doing something that he shouldn't be doing, there shouldn't be a problem with her looking at it.
