I would like to buy a tool (like notaries use) to identify my library books.

Go to art supply stores. They have embossing equipment, bookplates, and so on. Another option that you can use are mailing labels--you can order these at your stationer shops on online.
If you love calligraphy, you might want to try that--buy an inexpensive calligraphy pen(felt tip, not more than $3.00 tops) and write your name on the inside of your books.

Other wise you could get a rubber stamp printed, use embossing and heat crystals. It's way more fun.

Staples (and probably other office supply stores) sell customized ones. Go to the copy center there and they can order it for you.
