What, off your recently-born baby? The umbilical cord should fall off on its own. Is it just a little blood? Dab it up and make sure it's clean. If it's a -lot- of bleeding and it wasn't dried and shriveled yet, call the doctor or the ER.

You mean your baby's umbilical cord stump fell off? There is sometimes a little blood, and that's okay. If it's really bleeding then take the baby to the doctor, to make sure there is no infection.

Take that baby to the doctor for crying out loud.

Of all the questions you posted here it seems like you did not take any parenting classes whatsoever or listened to the doctors and nurses about caring for your baby before leaving the hospital.

I have 3 kids and another on the way and everytime the nurses will give me information on what I need to do when caring for my newborn when I go home.

You need some help really before you hurt your baby.

So since the cord fell off and it is bleeding, you need to take that baby to the hospital. That is why you were not suppose to give the baby a bath until it fell off and you are suppose to keep it clean with alcohol swabs or pads that they give you at the hospital.

The umbilical cord is supposed to dry up and fall off. If the umbilical cord falls off prematurely, please see a doctor immediately.

A little blood is probably normal. But if it looks irritated or bleeds excessively then you should call the baby's pediatrician.

This is okay! this happened to me, and I was a little scared at first. The pediatrician said to clean it with rubbing alchol and give him a bath! It helped up completly 1 week later!

Just dab up the blood. It's normal for there to be a tiny amount when it falls off. If it is BLEEDING then call your caregiver.

How old is your baby? If you're in doubt, call your pediatrician. That's what they're there for. If they're not willing to tell you anything, or they act impatient and rude over your question, get a new pediatrician!
