Just so you know I'm old enough to have seen the TV series during its first running. I never really watched it. My husband and my best friend's husband wanted to see it. They should have listened to us girls!!!

It must have been for cash.

First of all the the chars: the Crockett side..... wasnt bad
Tubbs was WAY OFF... no jamaican accent.

The story line got so damn twisted i got lost after 30 min

DOnt know if there was any opening credits. It shows the movie company logo then jumps into something happening at a night club. Never even tells us what movie were watching. I fell asleep at least 20 times hoping it would get better.

Wow. Are you serious? A movie based on a HORRIBLE show from the 80s sucked? Oh my. I never would've guessed. Especially with 2 heavyweight actors like Farrell and Foxx. I mean those two combined have made nothing but blockbuster movies over and over. How could the movie possibly suck.

Only an idiot would waste their money watching that movie. An even bigger one would use Foxx as a reason why the movie should've been good.

Well that all depends if are old enough to have seen the television show Miami Vice when it was a hit on friday night prime time back in the 80's. Most people who see movies that were once television shows when they were younger have a "comparison" factor worked into it. I believe that as far as nastalgia goes, it makes a big difference wether your going to like it or not.

It's proof that motion pictures based upon former successful television series do not necessarily guarantee box office returns. Unlike the television series of the same name, this movie dwells too much on the dark, violent side of life, rather than on the rational, logical methods of detective work. It certainly doesn't take a detective to find out that Hollywood needs to come up with some original stories once again, rather than relying on successes of the past and then bombing at the box office.

The critics liked it, but they panned POTC2 and it did well. Vice did greta for its first weekend, but we will see if it has staying power.

I loved Vice on TV and the critics blasted that, so I am thinking the new one is all dark and different. It seems to me they should have just changed the names since it is so different from the show. It would be as if the guys who made the Wihmaster movies called it I Dream Of Jeannie!@

I liked it. I admit the first time listening to them talk it was difficult to understand but the action was good and the toys were good the boat, the plain and the guns were very awesome, it was a guys movie but the way it was filmed was so different then any movie I have seen it put you in the action like you were being shot at.

i saw it on saturday too. don't worry, you're not alone. everyone at our showing said it sucked.

(there were only 30 people in the theater (probably 200+ seating) for the 7:00 show on saturday - and that's a generous estimate. i live in a town where the only things to do are go to a movie and go bowling. i think that says a lot.)
