pawn shop, unfortunately musicians pawn them for much needed cash, when I lived north side of Chicago and knew musicians they were always borrowing money to get their equipment back from the pawn shop before it got sold

Guitar Center is a nationwide chain where you can find a nice selection of guitars. I would also do a search on the Web for other local stores. You may also mail-order a guitar, but I definitely think that trying it out at a store would be best.

Sam Ash, Guitar Center, Willis Music... Many local retailers are great. Know if you want electric or acoustic and get a guitar that looks and plays nice. Oh yeah and Fender isn't always the best choice. Have fun and Cheers!

Buy "my own guitar"???
Meaning that I had already "made one" and its hanging in some one shop? I dont see the point of it, as I would make it to sell and not want to have to pay for it, as I wouldnt sell it in the first place if I had intentions of buying it back.
Now, to just "buy" a guitar, you can look at any local music store, or even online to get a good guitar.
Make sure of what you want, electric or non electric. Six string or twelve string. Also, the strings make a big diffrence too, either steel or nylon strings... (It depends on your type of application for it).
I wish you well..

look on your interior of reach yellow pages, or equilivant, and detect a save close to to you. Guitars are like vehicles: you will desire to on no account purchase one with out attempt making use of it first. each and each individual guitar has its very own pesonality, and you may desire to renowned whether you and it are going to get on mutually. you may desire to get an concept for the sound of the tool, the action, the form, the intensity . . . the only way is to %. it up and play it, and notice the way it feels and how it sounds.
