You need to tell caus you need to understand the reason why she is lying to you... there must be something bigger than you think, insecurity, being scared of telling the truth.
Tell how you feel when she's lying to you... caus lies will always be found out so no good outcome.
If she's your friend she shouldn't lie to you... and you as her friend to make her better person you should tell her

Maybe she is an insecure person that thinks you won't find her interesting if she doesn't lie. Does she lie about little things to enhance her life to you? Or are her lies bigger? Does she believe them herself or is she still aware that they are lies? This could be a real problem.
Does she have other friends and does she lie to them too? I would try and find out. If this is something she does regularly then I think you should confront her about it and tell her that this could be what ruins your friendship. Maybe that will snap her out of it. Be gentle.
Good luck!

If she is lying to make herself more interesting it is because she has low self esteem and cant reason why you like her. If she is a good friend despite this, i would not call her on it but give her a subtle warning. Say, I dont like people who lie and if I discovered a friend was a liar then I would find it hard to trust them!!
If she lies to protect herself then dump her ***!!

well i for one would tell her real friends do not lie to each other...if she has to lie then she should just keep her mouth shut...i wander how you can trust anything she says..it is good that you are aware of this now though...and if you choose to remain her friend i would ask her to please stop lying to you..i can not stand a liar and i do not need them around me at all...that is just the way i am..i have been lied to so much i am sick of it...there is no reason to lie to your friend if she is your true friend..she does not sound like someone i would want for my friend..if my friends have to lie they do not come around me..if we want to keep something quiet then we do not talk about it.. but a few of my friends and i have some secrets that we do not want anyone to know... but you have to be very careful and know them well because you can not trust everyone who claims to be your friend..

It depends on what she is lying about,if its attention seeking stuff then just ignore that she's lying, she'll probably stop when she matures a bit. Don't forget we all have our faults....
but if they are hurtful to you, tell her you know she 's lying and find new friends.

Try to find out why she is lying, maybe she thinks you are better than her so she is trying to impress you. Just say you had heard the opposite to what she is telling you,e.g she says Mrs Jones is having a affair with the milkman, just say oh she told me Mr and Mrs Jones was really happy and they always seem complete when they are together.

Confront her privately, tell her the plain truth and ask her for an explanation. It's not going to be easy but it's better than sweeping it under the rug and hoping it'll just clean itself up and dissapear in time.
