As a former phone sex operator in Hollywood CA. I think I am able to answer your question. Phone sex is just another form of masturbation. Masturbation is healthy and normal. However, if you are spending $5 a minute like my former callers did, then you have an addiction and it needs to be addressed. Many people get into phone sex because it disconnects them from the other party physically yet increases their mental satisfaction because they can be anything they want on the phone. After having worked in the field, I am totally turned off by phone sex. Mostly because of the fact that the majority of people on the other end of the line are not who they say they are. I worked in a big room with 50 cubicles with phones. I saw transexual male born people pretending to be female born hotties and getting their callers off. I would practice using different accents. One day I was a Southern Boy, the next I'd be from India, usually, I was just myself, but I realized that most callers weren't into guys as skinny as I was so I increased my weight on the phone. Who's gonna know? So, while you may be getting off thinking of that incredibly hot person on the other line who is perfectly height/weight proportionate with the hair and eye color you prefer, you may well be the victim of a scamming senior citizen with a youthful voice, a missing limb and an alcohol/lying problem. The real thing is always better and phone sex is not safer when the caller has your number and you don't have theirs. It could turn into a stalking situation. Whatever sexual activity you decide to practice, just remember to use your own common sense, protect yourself in every way possible and have fun. Cause if you ain't having fun, then it's never worth it.

Personally I don't see there's anything wrong with it. It's sort of like pornography, but more realistic to certain people. As long as the process doesn't hurt others, it is socially acceptable. If you have a find a fault, then i guess it's kinda eww, but people do them as their private thing oppose to: sharing their phonesex experiences with other people.

It costs too much for one thing and another thing the poor guys calling are lonely and just want someone to talk to and or are horny. The women on the other end are most likely ugly and fat and they serve the only purpose of draining a mans bank account when they could get the real thing for about the same amount of money from an escort.

The only problem that someone can have from this is if you aren't getting it on over the phone. Otherwise, there is nothing wrong with it because its intimate and you can express yourself to the other person but it is alot better in person but phone sex is good with someone if you are miles apart.

The only things that might be wrong with phone sex are the following:
1) if you prefer it to actual sex
2) if you are paying for it (that gets very expensive)
Also, I think the statement that "it is better than rape" might be something you ought to think about rephrasing. Ummm.... almost *anything* is better than rape.
