Would a guy choose a “hot” girl over a smart one? Do they care about intelligence at all?

Not all men prefer looks over intelligence, but many definitely do. Frankly, personality comes ahead of both looks and intelligence in my book. An ideal girlfriend/mate is loaded with all three.

But let's be at least somewhat honest. Most men don't really want a girl that's completely unattractive or downright ugly, even if she's as smart as Einstein. In a similar fashion, most women don't want a man that's completely unattractive or downright ugly unless he's loaded with money.

Now, if you take a woman of average intelligence and looks, and gave most men a choice that she could either be made prettier or smarter, most men would probably take prettier (as long as the tradeoff didn't make the woman dumb as a bunch of rocks). Why? My opinion is that men want other men to envy them. Other men will envy them for having a hot chick, but will not envy them for having a smart chick. Also, many men can be somewhat insecure about their woman being smarter than they are. So, to remain firmly in control in our patriarchal society, the man wants to be the smarter one and have the woman dependent on him.

Relationships are sought to heal us.

Men (contrary to popular belief) have a weight / identity problem. Most men are super insecure about their physic. This internal problem forces the man to place his insecurities on women. If the man's lean and muscular, well, naturally, he'll want a woman who is able to spend 3-4 hours a day working of their physic too ... mostly so that they can play together and spend time together. Men who are obese desire to be thin, and so when they see a fat woman, they are threatened because they see themselves, and they don't like what they see.

However, it's when the two people come together and can recognize the others insecurities within themselves and each other and both allow a healing to begin is when a relationship can occur.

Sadly, many of the women only hear the criticisms and this closes the woman to ever open up and look past the criticism to hear the other man's pain, or work to improve herself.

hi Lioness, i tried to locate "objectified" and "objectification" contained in the dictionary and no excitement. nicely, i'm not precisely effective I comprehend your queston, yet imagine i'd have an concept. besides, have you ever heard of the "bell curve"? that's a curve it is formed like a bell and does a sturdy interest of representing data. As for attractiveness, at one end of the curve we've the least attractive and at the different end the most. a similar should be genuine for earnings ... poorest on one part and richest on the different. contained in the course of the bell we've all the finest persons. i imagine what you're saying is genuine, yet basically basically a reality of existence. we've the finished spectrum for both genders. As for why men do not protest ... i wager they comprehend that that's basically the way issues are and protests are not likely to regulate something. desire this helps!

It is as true as the fact of women only choosing thin, rich guys, over nice but poor ones.

NO. I personally prefer a woman who KNOWS she is sexy, whether or not she may actually be, plus has other very good qualities, like brains, common sense, etc., over a sexy chic who doesn't have a clue how to turn a guy on!

NO. I'd take the warm, smart and nice one over the hot and stupid one anytime.
A sense of humour also helps.
