You guys are wrong about dogs and clothing. Maltese are supposed to wear rain gear in the rain, read up about them. And sweateres in the cold, they are so small they quickly lose heat when wet or cold. MY maltese goes nuts when I get her clothing out, she LOVES to put ono clothing. Many maltese love to put on clothing. Mine loves to show off and do fashion shows, she prances around in anything we put on and then grabs a new pair of clothing and asks for us to put it on her.

So if done right they should enjoy the interaction and the attention, and it is reccomended that they do wear clothing in cold and or wet weather. i would say your dog might not be used to it and therefore needs to adjust, or that your sister somehow hurt the dog by accident.

jsut go slowly, and it might turn out that your dog may not be into learning new tricks. Most likely however you jsut need to go slowly. Start with something light like a doggie t-shirt and then wokr your way up to more substantial clothing.

GOOD luck!

He was probably scared of what your sister was doing to him, most dogs do not like to wear any kind of clothing. Maybe you should take him to obedience class and see how he makes out? It will introduce him to other dogs and they should give you tips on how to stop him biting. If not, just try introducing them with their leashes on so if he tries to bite the chihuahua you can control him a lot easier. He may be absolutely fine with her. If they're already together and seem to be getting along well, I wouldn't really worry about it.... but I don't think I'd leave them alone together for any amount of time just to be on the safe side.

Dog clothes are cute, but they don't like wearing them. Animals can't speak to you with words and tell you, "Hey, I don't want to wear this coat because it's too hot, or you're hurting me," etc. The only indication they can give you is through whining, running, hiding, or as in your case, biting. If you felt trapped, you would do what you could to get away. Our pets just want to please us, but even they have boundaries. Like you say, you don't know what Shylo's life was like before you got him, and he can't tell you- so you just have to respect his boundaries when he tells you the best way he knows how. Don't make him wear clothes.

Maybe SHYLO is just not like to wear clothes. Shylo's former owners probalby treated/ him/her the way dogs should be treated with love and respect to what they really are! Dogs shouldn't wear clothing! ,lollollollol

Welcome to Maltepoo (maltese/poodle) world. I have 2 Maltepoo they're 3 years old now, let me tell you something about this mix breed....THEY'RE MEAN & LOVE TO BITE.
So, you have to know your maltespoo, they're not like other mix breed then you should learn that what they like and not like, sometime they're not a morning dogs, so before you try to do something for them or with them you should talk to them first (they'll listen) then see how they're feel then you can do stuff if not you will get a good bite out of the blue....

Poodles are known to be nippy..and dogs don't like when you put clothes on them. I have a 8 year old dachshund and we bought a cute golf shirt for him and I went to put it on him last night and he got nippy, maybe he wasnt in a good mood or he got sick of me putting his shirt on.

Try giving him some cold cuts or a dog treat, wait a few minutes and try again later.

He could have been abused, but the obvious answer is to STOP PUTTING THE D@MN RAINCOAT ON THE POOR DOG!!!!!!! Dogs, and other pets, are not suposed to wear cloths! I'd bite her too.

Well, there's an upside to all of this: now we can tell you twins apart. One has dog bites...

Seriously, dogs don't like to wear raincoats.
