Koren Zailckas, author of "Smashed" said that anything worth having should be worth having in excess. I agree in the sense that you should be hedonistic with love, affection, positive energy, the people you bring you joy around you, and other things that you could only benefit from. Taming hedonism is in self control, things can be done in balance and with moderation. But if they are positive things, then why tame them?

Desensitise yourself to it.

Indulge in it so much, too much until you get sick of it.

Or you can go the Clockwork Orange way and psychologically condition your mind to associate immense pain and disgust with those acts which you deem to be extremely hedonistic.
